Chapman Jewelers Collections_Terramundi Money Pots

These Etruscan money pots are hand thrown on a wheel by a small family run pottery in Umbria, Italy, where they have been used for over 2000 years. Their design has remained unchanged, examples of which can be seen in the British Museum.

Terramundi takes this humble item and our artisan team creates beautiful, bright and colorful contemporary designs, making them a perfect thoughtful gift. We like to think we cater for every taste with our handmade and hand painted terracotta money pots.

Each one has been made with a little love and a lot of care.

They come complete with a fortune coin already inside, a neck tag explaining the 2000 year history of saving coins in this way, and a little desire card to pop in your pot with the date you start saving and exactly what you hope to buy with the cash.

You can simply smash them, and use the broken pieces in a mosaic, but the best way to break your money pot is to get a chisel or the back of a hammer and place it inside the money slot - slowly lever the top and you should be able to pop the top off - you can now use the money pots to house a plant, sweets or pens.
